用美语介绍自己。

第二天 认识美语结构,基础句型,发音。用美语说明一件事,
一个情况,一种感觉⋯。用美语表达意念。

第三天 寻找目标,连接沟通。远用思维,说明需求。
用美语问问题,并明白问题的解答。

第二阶段 进阶
第四天 开发记忆,配合运用本身已有的学识。学习必备的专业知识。
用美语陈述专业,表达自我的能力及理想。

第五天 厘清概念,使用正确的资讯。正确地陈述心中意愿。
用美语与人讨论个案,达成沟通的目标。

第六天 文化交流,互相了解。
感受文化差异及表达态度和方式。
清楚地交换相互间的理念。
用美语讨论时事,寻求共同认知。

第三阶段 实战
第七天 实例演习,测试学习成果。基本书写练习:
填写表格,写祝贺卡,回函⋯。

第八天 听力考核,落实进修重点。温习句型,发音。
用美语辩论问题。

第九天 细节问题研讨,个人专题辅导。结业评估,个人专题报告。
完成九日培训,如进修人员完成每日课程,认真练习,当美语朗朗上口,得心应手。

第四阶段
求职就业,出国访问,悉听君便。为保持已得之美语实力,
请按指导老师之各别建议,继续学习。

Day 1: Pronunciation
Correctly annunciating the difficult sounds; th, l, y, r, ch,
Correctly annunciating the vowel sounds (both long and short)
a, e, i, o, u,
New vocabulary words

Conversation practice
Introductions: Names, titles, occupations: Shaking hands
Asking questions: From where one comes:
America - States, Cities (No Provinces)
Telling time in English

Day 2: Complete thoughts – sentences
Subject – verb – object
Every sentence
MUST have a verb
What is conjugation?
Using the “ing” form of the verb
New vocabulary words

Conversation practice
Asking and giving directions in Beijing
where are the Olympic venues
what is your purpose at this destination

Day 3: Verb tenses
Speaking in the past, present, future
New vocabulary words

Conversation practice
Talking about development in Beijing and China

Day 4: Modifying and describing objects
Proper use of Adjectives and Adverbs
New vocabulary words

Conversation practice
Reading an American restaurant menu
Ordering food in a restaurant.

Day 5: Review
Review of the week
Questions over all material

Conversation practice
Talking sports and Olympics
American football vs. Chinese football

Day 6: Comparisons
Using comparative forms such as: better, best, bigger, biggest
Using comparative forms: “more” and “most”
Using comparative forms: “less” and “fewer”

Conversation practice: 5 sentence oral presentations
Introduce yourself to the group

Day 7: Conversation practice
All session:
2 min. oral presentation: describe favorite activity


Day 8: Conversation practice
All session:
asking and answering questions
Groups of three participants will role play as Chinese citizens
as the audience asks question about a topic concerning topics
selectedrandomly from a list of group generated topics.

For example: If there are 18 students – there will be six groups
of three participants with the opportunity, in turn to answer
questions from the rest of the audience.

Topics covered will be those most interesting to the group as a whole,
but might include asking and answering questions about where a
particular hotel is located; where an Olympic venue is located;
topics of Chinese historical interest, and so on.
Each session will last from 15-20 minutes as time permits.

Day 9: Idioms
Learning common American idioms such as,
“flying by the seat of our pants,”
“sleeping like a log,” “eat like a horse,”
“all’s fair in love and war,” and so on.

Answering questions about any topic covered.

Writing a business letter to inquire about employment
